Are you stiff and sore from winter hibernation and winter weather
maintenance? Have you started to go stir crazy from spending most
days indoors? As the winter continues to progress, there are ways
that you can get ready for springtime and increased outdoor activities.
A few ways to limber up before warm weather activities start is to
consider going to a chiropractor for realignment of your spine and
other joints. If you have noticed that your range of motion has decreased
or that you are unable to move or lift things like you used to, then
a chiropractor can help. Realignment of the bones helps you turn your
head or bend your back; stops your bones from grinding; helps prevent
arthritic degeneration; and helps decrease pain from the stiffness
and grinding of the joints. Regular alignment can help you function
better..just like realigning your car after the wheels are rotated..it
functions better.
Another way to improve range of motion and limber up is to receive
periodic massages to help loosen the muscles surrounding your joints.
Massage therapy not only removes muscle spasms but it can help reduce
scar tissue from prior injuries. Massage improves your muscles balance-giving
more power for contraction and helping to reduce pain from constant
spasticity.
Stretching also helps your spine and muscles stay limber. Springtime
will come and we will want to garden, ride bicycles, walk/run, and
do many other outdoor activities that require muscle strength, endurance,
and range of motion. If you stretch the muscles, you will have all
three of these capabilities.
