This month celebrate Easter with a renewed sense of peace, a new
meaning to the word stretch, and a positive energy that carries through
the day and night. Everyone can use some peace and with Easter around
the corner there is no better time than to remember that.
The yoga posture above is called Rabbit Pose. This posture looks
difficult, but in fact, it is a very simple and amazing way to open
and stretch the spine, though it should not be practiced without a
teacher at first. There are at least four areas in the body this posture
could be affecting.
One of the most obvious is the whole spine, from the coccyx to the
neck. This posture can actually help lengthen the spine. It also maintains
mobility and elasticity of the vertebrae and the spinal muscles. That’s
just one place the rabbit helps. The second benefit is compression
of the thyroid gland, one of most important glands in the body. It
helps regulate metabolism and controls calcium release throughout
the blood. The compression of the thyroid gland helps flush the gland
with oxygenated blood, keeping hormones healthy and regulated. The
third area of benefit is the compression of the pancreas and liver.
This helps squeeze toxins and waste from the organs and refresh them
with healthier cells. Cleansing the organs with your own strength
and breath can be more beneficial than taking a medication. The fourth
area of benefit is in the nervous system. The posture helps nurture
and stimulates each nerve cell in and around the spine. Reconnecting
and re-energizing helps everyone feel better and helps all systems
in the body communicate. It’s called relaxed energy. This energy
is what helps keeps a person stress free, focused and energized throughout
the day.
Focus on what is important in life. This Easter, remember peace within
and throughout the world.
