Destroy the Grip of Pain from Fibromyalgia
By: Linda Liszka
Fibromyalgia is a rheumatic disorder characterized by chronic achy muscular pain and joint pain as well. The pain from this disorder is usually described as burning, throbbing, shooting, and stabbing. The pain and stiffness is often greater in the morning, and may also be accompanied by chronic headaches, strange sensations in the skin, insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome and TMJ. Other symptoms often experienced by people with fibromyalgia include PMS, painful periods, anxiety, palpitations, memory impairment, irritable bladder, skin sensitivities, dry eyes and mouth, dizziness, and impaired coordination. Depression is frequently a part of the picture also.
The most distinctive feature of fibromyalgia, however, is the existence of certain tender points - nine pairs of specific spots where muscles are abnormally tender to the touch.
I was diagnosed with this syndrome a couple of years ago. I had a few major surgeries within a short time period and started to notice the symptoms (fibromyalgia) and they kept getting worse. My doctor stated that trauma to the body is one of ways that fibromyalgia can start.
When I was told that I had fibromyalgia I did what most people do these days and turned to the internet to seek information. I’m 51 years old, the mother of four children and grandma to 1 grandchild besides working full time. I was not about to let the fibromyalgia take over my life.
Because of the fact that my body has decided over the years that it wants to have adverse reactions to prescription drugs I have had to seek out natural remedies for my ills. That is how I came across a site devoted to proving natural cures for fibromyalgia. This book gives you an all around approach to becoming healthy and feeling so much better. I find now that if I stay away from certain foods, do some gentle exercise and take a few supplements my symptoms disappear.
This information changed my life for the better. I now have energy at the end of the day; I’m able to keep up with my grandchild and can even go in shopping trips with my girls again. What a blessing it is to not be hurting all of the time.
