Protect Yourself
• Get annual mammograms (beginning at age 40).
• Get tested for colorectal cancer (beginning at age 50).
• Schedule regular pap smears.
• Watch for signs of changes in skin conditions, especially moles that change shape, color, or size.
• Get a second opinion before making any decisions about treatment.
• Ask someone to accompany you to your doctor’s appointment so they can listen to the information with you.
• Accept help from friends and family during this time in your life. It’s ok to need others.
• Find and join a support group in your area.
• Don’t cut yourself off from friends and family.
