How to Manage Your Home-Based Business Time

If you own your own home based business, it takes determination and a vision to separate your work time from your family time.
Here are a three simple goals, identified by Paul and Sarah Edwards; authors of two books “Working From Home” and “Why Aren’t You Your Own Boss?”
First, put first things first. Separate what needs to be done by identifing all of the truly important tasks that you need to accomplish to reach your business goals. Important task to reach your goals might be meeting with clients, planning and implementing a marketing plan for your business, or updating yourself on an important change in your industry.

Second, clear your mind by putting your tasks down in writing. Begin crossing off your tasks as you complete them according to their identified priority. This will help you to make sure everything that is necessary is completed by the end of the work day.  And third, throw away everything you don’t need. Home offices have a tendency to develop piles of clutter which eat up your valuable time when you are looking for something. Put important papers in an organizedl filing system that makes sense to you.
