Support Groups
In 2005, Ronni Edmands organized Our Hope, a Christian based, peer-lead support group in Parkersburg for those experiencing infertility and/or miscarriage problems. Ronni says the idea grew out of her personal struggle with infertility, one that lasted more than three years. Meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm at North Parkersburg Baptist Church, 3rd floor. The meetings are typically informal and consist of sharing information, emotional and spiritual support, and occasional speakers. Ronni says, “In addition to our meetings, we try to get together socially about every 3 months for dinner. We have about 15 people who have been involved with the group; however, the average attendance for a monthly meeting is about five which provides each person an opportunity to share.”
A similar support group in Charleston meets on the 2nd floor of the Charleston Area Medical Center-Women’s and Children’s Hospital on the first Monday of the month from 6-7pm.
