Cats begin breeding between 4-12 months of age.
The gestation period is 58 - 65 days.

A female cat will come in and out of heat about every 2 weeks until it is pregnant or spayed.

A fertile cat can produce about 3 litters a year.
A female cat still nursing kittens may come into heat again and get pregnant before the last litter is weaned.
In seven years, one female cat and her offspring can produce 420,000 cats.
Only 1 out of every 3 kittens born in the wild will see its first birthday.
9 out of 10 cats hit by cars are not spayed or neutered.
