Women
of WEALTH
Nominations will be accepted through February 6 for the annual WEALTH
awards sponsored by the Parkersburg chapter of Altrusa International,
Inc and the Parkersburg YWCA to recognize outstanding women in the Mid
Ohio Valley. WEALTH is an acronym that stands for Women of Excellence
and Leadership Timely Honored.
Women may be nominated by friends, co-workers, or anyone wishing to
acknowledge a woman’s achievement in Arts & Letters, Trailblazing,
Community/Government Service (volunteerism), Business/Professions, Organizational
Achievement, or as a Young Woman of Distinction. Nominations are
also encouraged for women who have earned recognition for Lifetime Achievement
because of long-term contributions the community. Nominees will be evaluated
on their innovation, problem solving ability, persuasiveness, importance
of contribution, perseverance, ability to work with others, success
as a role model, skill and talents, effectiveness, leadership, and permanency
of accomplishment impact.
A corporation, business or organization whose policies and practices
encourage achievement by women and which promote equal advancement opportunities
for women of diverse backgrounds will also be recognized. Nomination
forms can be picked up at the public libraries, the YWCA, or from the
Altrusa website: www.altrusapkb.com.
The awards for Women of Excellence and Leadership Timely Honored
will be presented April 1, 2004 at the Parkersburg Holiday Inn. For
