There’s Music in the Air
“Enjoy the fulfillment of this promise at the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra – Parkersburg performances conducted by Maestro Grant Cooper. The first of a season of five concerts is scheduled for Sunday, October 14, 2007, at 3:00 p.m. in the Blennerhassett Middle School auditorium. The music of Aaron Copland, “Appalachian Spring,” Zoltan Kodaly, “Galata Dances” and Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, “Symphony No.6 (Pathetique)” will be featured.
In addition to Sunday October 14, dates for the season are November 11 and December 9, 2007, and February 3 and April 13, 2008.
Tickets for the concerts are $15 for adults and $8 for students for single-event tickets. Season tickets are $50 ($30 students) for the four classical concerts and $70 ($40 students) for the Grand series that includes the Holiday Pops. Additionally, great food awaits you Saturday evening, October 13, at the “Cooking with Kiki and Chef Rudie” four-course feast at the Parkersburg Country Club featuring cooking instructions, dinner, wine and surprise entertainment.
