Getting That Secure Feeling
Sandy James
|
Peace of mind. Security. That is what Sandy James wanted most and now she has it and is offering it to others.
As a long time resident of Kanawha County and retired middle school teacher, Sandy is now working to help make families more secure. She is an independent representative of Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. “I wanted the coverage myself. I checked into this NYSE Company prior to my retirement and was amazed at what it provided. I knew I wanted this nationwide coverage for myself, my family, and friends. That is what got me hooked,” she said.
“There are many situations in everyone’s life where they wished they had someone to turn to for some legal advice,” she added. “This is that legal advice – legal advice available to anyone by just picking up the telephone.”
Sandy’s background of caring for children, protecting children, and being helpful to parents has carried over into a new career for her. “People in the plan have access to legal representation all across the country. Whether it is an accident, traffic ticket, a will, power of attorney, signing an offer to purchase a house – the list is endless. There is a toll-free number for emergencies 24/7 and access weekdays for non-emergencies.
“People should ask themselves ‘What if?’ – you are facing a divorce, you get served papers, you need help with child custody, you need to sign a contract, etc. One of the most frequent things we are seeing these days is questions about incorrect or unfair phone bills.
“And, of course, identity theft is a huge problem. We provide credit monitoring and fraud alerts, and we are the only company that provides identity restoration after an identity crisis has happened. Another thing that we stress is to have your will, living will, and medical power of attorney written. So many families do not have these in place,” she explained. “These documents will be prepared as part of your membership.”
There are different plans to suit different needs. There is the family plan and several business plans. Members pay monthly for access to legal services anytime. The attorneys are well-versed in the different areas of law. For example, if you need a real estate attorney, you will be directed to one; if you need a divorce attorney, you will be directed to one. The average family plan runs approximately $36 per month.
“It makes me feel safe knowing I have this legal resource at my fingertips. And it makes me happy knowing that I can help others get this same sense of security,” she said.
