On Saturday, November 18 and Sunday November 19, the Friends of the Blennerhassett will open Homes for the Holidays, featuring seasonally decorated homes from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries with hosts and hostesses in period dress. Visitors may purchase tickets and start the tour at any of the six locations from 1-4:30 pm. On Saturday evening from 5-7, tours will be held by candlelight. All homes will be part of the tour’s progressive tea, with a specialty tea item offered at each home. Homes for the Holidays include the home of Michael and Dina Braniff, 1900 19th Street in Parkersburg, built in 1902, the Cooper Cabin in Parkersburg City Park, 1804, Norman and Lillian McCrary’s home, 111 13th Street, Parkersburg; 1872, the Watkins house, 10 Heather Glenn in Vienna, constructed in 2001, the Beal home, 13th Street formerly known as the Avery Savage House, 1873 and the Bragg home, 1200 Julianna built in1830.
Proceeds for Homes for the Holidays will go to complete the window treatments at Blennerhassett Mansion.

The Julia-Ann Square Historic District in Parkersburg will host their seventh annual Christmas Home Tour and Tea, December 2nd and 3rd, with five homes that will be shown for the first time.
On Saturday, guided tours led by homeowners in period attire begin at 1, 2, 5 and 7 pm, starting with a lavish Victorian Tea at the First United Methodist Church, 1001 Juliana Street. The 5pm and 7pm tours are held by candlelight.
The tour includes the homes of Kathryn and Madison Brown, 904 Juliana Street; Sandra and Jim Wilson and John Martin, 944 Juliana Street; Deloris Bragg, 1201 Juliana Street; Debbie and Mike Mason, 104 13th Street; Sandy and Randy Guthrie, 100 Ann Street. The tea and tour is $15.00. Tickets may be purchased by calling (304) 422-2687 or (304) 422-9861.
On Sunday, there is no Tea, and visitors may tour the homes in any sequence from 1-6pm in self guided tours. The cost is $10.00. Tickets for the self-guided tours may be purchased at any of the participating homes or in advance by calling (304) 422-2687 or (304) 422-9861.
